Ceòl Nis - The Ness Music Festival

CEOL NIS, a five-day festival of traditional Gaelic-Celtic music, is Ness' contribution to the increasingly buoyant Hebridean arts and music scene.

The 2002 festival was a fantastic success and was the first year it was organised by the new Taigh Dhonnchaidh Arts and Music centre in Ness. This annual music and arts festival has a fantastic programme and is now well established as a highlight on the Lewis summer calender.

In 2002, the Big Ceilidh ‘Ceilidh Mhor’ was the main event on Friday night, with three international celtic music bands headlining. Craobh Rua (Ireland), Beolach (Cape Breton), Sonas (Lewis). The event was followed by a scrumptious seafood barbeque the next day.

For information and tickets contact: Taigh Dhonnchaidh, tel. +44 (0)1851 810166, Email: oifis@taighdhonnchaidh.com, Web: www.taighdhonnchaidh.com.

Tickets are also available locally in the Ness area at: Taigh Dhonnchaidh, Ness Social Club, Swainbost Shop, Cross Stores
